First impressions

I first met David on Neuro ITU in 2005 back in the day when we were at the Radcliffe Infirmary. Back then I was working as a healthcare assistant and had no previous healthcare experience so a complete rookie. Being a newbie and working as a hca I would often greet neurologists and surgeons anaethatists in the morning and often, sadly, my gesture was ignored. Not by David. He was the kind of person who would treat the cleaner the same as the surgeon. He was kind through and through as well as interesting and funny. We had some good nights out after the infamous NITU xmas balls. I was even lucky enough to see him at the churchill hospital where I worked as an ANP in oncology. He looked well and was just as charming as I remember.
I am so very sad to hear of his passing and send all my love to Liz, his family and children. Your father was an amazing and kind soul to everyone. His friendly smile will be missed xxx
